Singer/songwriter Jimmy Rankin performs a passionate version of his tune You and Me in the back room of the Rivoli, a small club on Queen Street West in Toronto. At the time (2001) Rankin was better known as a member of his sibling’s band, The Rankin Family. He had just recorded his first solo album, Song Dog, and was getting ready for his first solo tour. I spoke to Jimmy recently and he said this is a song he hasn’t played live in years and perhaps it’s time to revisit this old gem.
