Jo Dee Messina postpones Canadian tour

JoDeeMessina

Jo Dee Messina, who had a long run of hits in the late 90’s and early 2000’s with songs like ‘I’m Alright’, ‘Bye, Bye’, and ‘My Give a Damn’s Busted’ has postponed her Canadian tour until October.

The following note was left on her website and social media to her fans up here north of the border saying:

Dear Canada,
I always look forward to coming up there and seeing you all. Canada is such a beautiful place. It actually is what inspired me the write the song “Thats God”. This year we were planning to spend 17 days there touring at the end of May. We were all so excited. Baby Jonah even got his passport to come along.

I wanted to write you myself and let you know, sadly we had to move those show to October. My mother hasn’t been well. It’s been a day by day thing. One day she’s better, one day she’s takes 2 steps back. I had to be the one to make the call on whether or not we were going to keep those shows in place or move them. I didn’t feel comfortable being so far away not having the ability to get home fast in case things made a turn for the worst. Even if she got better tomorrow, her rehab is going to take quite a bit of time and my siblings won’t all be here at that time. So I would need to be here for that.

The promoters and venues were so helpful and moving these dates. If there is anyone for you to be upset with about the inconvenience, it should be me. This was my decision that they helped facilitate.

On a more positive note, when I come up to see you in October we will be bringing the new album with us. So, when you hear the new songs in the show, you will be able to take them home.
The new show dates are as follows:

Oct 3 N. Battleford, SK

Oct 4 Swift Current, Sk

Oct 5 Yorkton, Sk

Oct 6 Melford, SK

Oct 8 Grand Prairie, AB

Oct 10 Edmonton, AB

Oct 11 Whitecourt, AB

Oct 12 Regina, SK

Oct 13 Winnipeg, Manitoba

Please forgive any inconvenience this has caused. I REALLY hope to see you all in October.
Thank you for your understanding.

Most Sincerely,
Jo Dee Messina
