Reba hangs up her ACM hosting hat

If you turn on your television next year to watch the Academy of Country Music Awards, you won’t find Reba hosting.

Reba is retiring from the role that she’s had since 1999, until more recently when she began sharing the stage with fellow Oklahoma native Blake Shelton. Shelton may be hosting by his lonesome next year in Vegas but there’s still time for a co-host to be announced.

“[I’ve] passed the torch to Blake,” Reba told Country Weekly Magazine. “I’m a huge Blake Shelton fan.”

Even though her hosting skills will be missed on the ACM Awards, she will still be gracing us with her quirky lines and witty personality on her new show Malibu Country which will debut Friday, Nov. 2 on ABC.
