Last week, the Canadian sister duo One More Girl released a limited edition five track EP The Hard Way. The full album is scheduled for release in April 2014 but this teaser was well worth the listen.

The album starts out with their hard hitting, upbeat current radio single ‘Love Like Mine’, which I absolutely love. It has a cool, sweet country sound and their voices mesh wonderfully together.  It’s that song that everyone wants to sing to an ex, ‘I’m going to be just fine but you’re never going to find another love like mine’ – those lyrics say it all.

If you have found the right person for you, you will know what it feels like to be ’Wired’,  the song describes finding someone who makes you feel like nothing you have ever felt before and loving it.

‘Ray Bans’ is a fast paced, fun loving song, that makes you feel like it’s summer time. With the current weather, we are having it made me feel like I was enjoying a nice summer drive playing this song with the windows rolled down.

My favourite song from the EP is ‘Easy To Remember’ which is a really slow stripped down ballad. It talks about a relationship that didn’t work out. It has a very simplistic but beautiful musical arrangement and lyrics that anyone who has experienced heart break can relate to.

Last but definitely not least is another ballad, ‘Speak of the Devil’ about small town life and an old flame, it tells a story through the lyrics but the emotion and strength in Carly and Britt’s voices really connect with listeners.
