Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on what we’re grateful in our lives. The holiday allows us to take a break from our hectic schedules to reflect on what really matters; family, friends and music! Our neighbours south of the border are celebrating their Thanksgiving holiday today and we thought we’d put together a list of American artists we’re thankful for this year!
Russell Dickerson
In October of 2017, Russell Dickerson released his first full-length studio album entitled Yours and has since had two number one hits on the Country Airplay charts. Those two songs are Yours and Blue Tacoma so this year we can be thankful for that! Check out Russell on the CMA red carpet with our host Kevin Wendt!
Zac Brown Band
We have to be thankful for the band that gave us songs like Chicken Fried and Homegrown among countless others. Zac Brown Band consistently gives country fans amazing music along with stunning live shows. Family Table is the perfect Thanksgiving song!
Carrie Underwood
Carrie Underwood has been one of the biggest names in country music ever since she won American Idol in 2005. Her performance at this year’s CMA Awards brought down the house and she also announced that her second child will be a boy!
Luke Combs
He’s the CMA New Artist of the Year has certainly given us a lot to be thankful for this year including four number ones. We’re thankful that Luke Combs has given us a ton of amazing music to add to our playlists!
Kacey Musgraves
Her 2018 album Golden Hour was arguably her best release yet. Kacey Musgraves took home Album of the Year at the CMA Awards and the single Slow Burn is a song we can all be thankful for!
Jimmie Allen
The Delaware native is reaching new heights with his latest single Best Shot off of his debut album Mercury Lane. Jimmie Allen has had quite the journey to get to this point and we’re so thankful he persevered and followed his dreams!
Florida Georgia Line
Calling Florida Georgia Line superstars would be an understatement. The duo’s diamond selling hit Cruise changed the country music scene forever and introduced country music to widespread popularity never seen by the genre. This year we got the smash hit Simple which is still heard all over country radio.
Maren Morris
Maren Morris brings a certain sound that is rare to find in this day and age. She mixes old school soul with a modern swagger and is one of country music’s top acts. Maren Morris is paving the way for women to follow in her path and has already given us plenty to be thankful for.
Chris Stapleton
Chris Stapleton is responsible for writing some of the biggest songs for country music’s biggest artists. He has multiple Grammy and CMA Awards to his name including this year’s CMA Male Vocalist of the Year. Thank you for the amazing music Chris!
George Strait
The King of Country, George Strait is an artist that country fans young and old should be thankful for. A true pioneer of the genre, George Strait is considered one of the most influential recording artists of all time in any genre. He introduced festival style tours and was known for bringing country music back to its roots during the pop country era of the 1980’s. His influence is still felt today!
