He may be at the height of his career having just released another smash album, Welcome to the Fishbowl, and on tour with Tim McGraw, but Kenny Chesney‘s love isn’t with a woman, it’s currently with his Golden-doodle puppy, Pancho.
After his marriage from actress from Renee Zellweger was annulled just four months after they married in 2005, Chesney says it was a difficult time in his life. He admits that his song ‘I’m Alive’ was written during that difficult time.
Chesney told ABC’s Dateline, “I like to think that I’ve gotten better as a person. When you do what I do for a living and you’re constantly moving and you’re constantly creative, and you’re constantly dreaming, which is — that’s me all the time — finding a certain amount of balance in the middle of that is hard.”
Although Chesney has dated other women since his marriage, he admits, “It’s interesting to date when you’ve already got a mistress, and my mistress is music.”
He hasn’t given up on the thought of having a family though, stating: “As far as kids are concerned, you know, I hope it happens,” he said. “I love what I do. It consumes my life, but I will tell you that I don’t think I want, forever, for my life to revolve around sound check at 5 o’clock and catering, every day.”
As for this summer though, his life will revolve around 5 o’clock soundcheck, catering, and hitting the stage all across America with his friend of over 20 years, Tim McGraw on their Brothers of the Sun Tour.
