Reviewed: Dean Brody’s “Crop Circles”

Review By: Shenieka Russell-Metcalf

Artist: Dean Brody

Album: Crop Circles

Label: Open Road Recordings

Rating: 5/5

Two- time CCMA Male Artist of The Year, Dean Brody has produced yet another album full of hits with Crop Circles.

Dean’s lead single ‘Bounty’ featuring fellow Canadian musician Lindi Ortega is burning up the Canadian country radio charts and getting some amazing airplay. The catchy –western style song and music video captivate you with a great story and perfect vocals from both artists.

Crop Circles includes fun-loving songs ‘4 Wheel Drive’ and ‘Mountain Man’. Brody also incorporates some island rhythm flavour with ‘Sand In My Soul’ and ‘The Old Sand Bar’ both songs make you want to take a trip down to the islands or to the cottage for some relaxation.

My favourite on the album is ‘Another Man’s Gold’, which hits your heart and talks about treasuring what you have been given. He also keeps it slow with ‘Kansas Cried’, a song about a brave solider and his love.

To sum it up in one line — the album’s lyrical content and music is pure brilliant.

From the first time, I heard his first single ‘Brothers’ in 2008, I knew he was a superstar. Since then Dean has been sure to put out some great music and made us Canadian girls ( and boys) feel proud. Dean is currently on Crop Circles and Tractor Beams tour  with The Voice winner Cassadee Pope. Check out the cross Canada tour dates here.
