Olympic Q and A with Kortney & Dave

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: KORTNEY AND DAVE

TC – What is your favourite Summer Olympic event?
Kortney – My favorite summer even is by far the gymnastics. I think if I hadn’t have been so into music and dance growing up, I would have thrown myself into gymnastics. It’s so invigorating to watch an event that is changing constantly. I mean, a love a good rowing race but in gymnastics there are different events with different routines so it makes it more fun to watch.

TC – What is your most memorable Olympic moment/memory?
Kortney – My most memorable plympic memory was during the 2010 Winter Olympics. Dave and I and the kids were staying downtown Toronto in a hotel during the final hockey game. When Canada won, it literally sounded like a bomb went off downtown. There were crowds of people cheering outside, the bars were packed, the hotel lobby was celebrating. We woke the kids up so they could experience the energy that was undeniably electric.

TC – What has been your favourite opening ceremony performance?
Kortney – My favorite opening ceremony experience is hands down 2008 in Beijing. I couldn’t take my eyes off the television. The countdown, the fireworks, the drummers, the lighting of the torch. The sheer grandeur of the event was magical.

TC – Tell us about your own personal feat?
Kortney – My own personal feat has yet to be reached. I would love to run a marathon one day. Heck, I would love to run a half marathon but the last time I set out to do that, I only made it a week into training before my knees gave me a run for my money. I’m more of a yogi turned wanna be runner so I’ll keep you posted – ha.
