Reviewed: Samara Yung’s “This Is Me”

Artist: Samara Yung
Album: This Is Me

Review By: Shenieka Russell-Metcalf

Saskatchewan songstress Samara Yung released her new album This Is Me earlier this week. The six-time Saskatchewan Country Music Award winner has put together seven country-pop tracks that listeners are sure to enjoy.

Her current single “Better Than I’ve Ever Been” is a very inspirational song – the lyrics and vocals are very strong with a powerful message. She released singles Stone and Walk Away in 2014. In “Stone”, her vocals give listeners the perfect amount of spunk to match the lyrical content. “Walk Away” is a fast-paced song about saying goodbye to a bad situation and moving onto better things.

My favourite from the album is Fight This Feeling. Samara shows off the natural beauty of her voice on all seven tracks but for me “Fight This Feeling” had the most impact and I listened to it on repeat.

Track Listing:
1. Better Than I’ve Ever Been
2. Rattle Your Bones
3. Fight This Feeling
4. Stone
5. Bulletproof
6. Walk Away
7. You Brought The Party
