The best Country Gifts for Valentine’s Day

BY: JESSICA BEUKER

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching which means that if you’re in a relationship, chances are you’re going to need to buy your significant other something special.

Valentine’s Day is full of cliches and outdated traditions. It’s not really all that special or romantic to buy your partner a box of chocolates or a bouquet of flowers when everyone else is buying the exact same thing at the grocery store on the way home from work on February 13.

Instead, why not put in a little bit more thought, time and effort and give them something that really means something. Can’t think of anything? Well, you’re in luck. Because we’ve got some great ideas for country gifts this Valentine’s Day. Check them out and you’ll be thanking us later!

1. Date Night Bucket List

Buy the kit here or save some money and make your own using a mason jar, some twine and some popsicle sticks. All you have to do is write a fun date night idea on each popsicle stick and stick it in the jar. When your loved one opens it they can pull out a popsicle stick, read the date idea and then that’s the activity the two of you will do that night. It’s the gift that keeps on giving, as you can pull one out once a month, once a week or even everyday if you’re up for it!

2. A Scrapbook or Photo Album

Want to take a walk down memory lane? Create a scrapbook or photo album for your loved one so they can look through all of your favourite moments and memories throughout the year. To countrify this gift, use a burlap album and choose cowboy themed stickers. Be sure to include photos of the time you went to your favourite county bar or saw your favourite country artist in concert. And speaking of concerts…

3. Concert Tickets

What better gift can you give someone than to make a memory by having a fun and incredible experience. Snag tickets to their favourite country artist and you’ll go down in history as the greatest gift-giver ever. There are a lot of awesome country music tours coming up in 2019, so you’ll have lots of ideas to choose from.

4. A Night In

Sometimes gifts are overrated or spending a bunch of money is not a feasable option. Opt out of buying gifts for one another this year and instead agree to have a cozy, romantic night in. Cook a good ol’ fashioned country dinner together and enjoy it over a nice glass of wine. Or order in food and try your hand at making a delicious dessert. Cuddle up in front of the fire and just enjoy each other’s company, or turn on the TV and watch a favourite movie. If either of you are musical, you could even break out the acoustic guitar and have a sing-a-long. The possibilities are seriously endless. As long as you’ve got each other, you can make any evening a fun time with the one you love.
