Top Country Collaborations That Need To Happen

BY: BEN PAPAGEORGE

The only thing better than a song by your favourite singer is a song by two of your favourite singers! The beautiful thing about music is how it unites people. Across every genre we can find collaborations between artists from all walks of life but one of the genres in which you can find a ton of collaborations is country. Whether it’s artists writing for other artists or singers teaming up for a duet, country music is filled with people working together and even though there are a ton out there already, we’ve made a list of the Top Country collaborations that need to happen!

Tim Hicks & Brantley Gilbert

This past March, Tim Hicks joined fellow country-rocker Brantley Gilbert for the Western Canadian leg of his “The Ones That Like Me Tour”. The two singers both personify what it means to be electric. A song featuring Tim and Brantley would be something country music fans would be cranking up to eleven. Both are among the best at mixing hard rock with country soul so this is a collaboration that needs to happen! In the meantime you can check out Tim Hicks’ latest single “Loud” which has been featured on Sportsnet and NBC Sports for the NHL Playoffs!

Dallas Smith & Andrew Hyatt

Country music fans were recently gifted with a fantastic collaboration by Dallas Smith and Terri Clark. The former Default singer is no stranger to working with other musicians. Andrew Hyatt opened for Dallas Smith on his most recent tour and you can definitely here some of Dallas’ influence in Hyatt’s work.

Lindsay Ell & Chris Stapleton

Chris Stapleton is one of the hottest singer/songwriters in country music and Lindsay Ell is making a statement for herself at the top of the charts. Imagine the call and return between Stapleton’s raspy voice and Lindsay’s stunning guitar?

Jessica Mitchell & Johnny Reid

Johnny Reid just finished his “Revival” tour in which he was accompanied by Jessica Mitchell who is fresh off of releasing two new songs with her debut album coming May 11. The two performed Johnny’s “Whiskey Kisses” together night after night…if only they would release the song as a single. Both singers have extremely powerful voices and blend country twang and contemporary sounds with ease.

Madeline Merlo & Kelsea Ballerini

The CCMA nominated Female Vocalist of the Year in 2017 and the Grammy nominated “Best New Artist” of 2017 would easily steal our hearts with their melodic blend of country twang and pop appeal. Both are artists who have been influenced by multiple genres and it really shows in both of their respective songs.

High Valley & Zac Brown Band

High Valley and Zac Brown Band are both chart topping acts with powerful and soulful sounds. Pairing the brothers from Alberta with the boys from Georgia seems like a no brainer. Mix High Valley’s pop twist with Zac Brown Band’s southern rock groove and you have yourself a hit.

Oh man. Stratford. So fun. Kingston. You are next.

Shania Twain & Paul Brandt

These two Canadian country legends have seen success all over the globe. A collaboration between the national icons would be something our country and the rest of the world would never forget. Shania Twain is also set to host the 2018 CCMA Awards in Hamilton this September!
