Top Surprises of 2019 CMAOntario Award Nominees

The Country Music Association of Ontario Announces 2019 CMAOntario Awards Nominees

Hosted by Jason McCoy and taking place Sunday, June 16, 2019 at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, the 7th Annual CMAOntario Awards, presented by Slaight Music with support from Ontario Creates, will acknowledge the talent and achievements of Ontario’s country music industry across 16 categories, and performances from your favourite country artists. See all CMAOntario Award performers here.

Every award show has its list of unexpected nominees & snubs, here are the Top Surprises of the 2019 CMAOntario Awards Nominees:

1. James Barker Band

We’re honestly shocked James Barker Band’s “Good Together” didn’t get a nomination for “Single of the Year”. Since “Chills” took home the honour at last year’s CMAOntario Awards, this one has our heads spinning.

2. Jim Cuddy

There’s no denying Jim Cuddy is deserving of the honour. The real surprise is that this is his first time being nominated for Male Artist of the Year.

3. Andrew Hyatt

We’re going on record saying that Andrew Hyatt’s “CAIN” should have been nominated for Album of the Year. Who’s with us?
