Hofmann has quickly become one of the Canadian names to know in country music. With her unmistakable voice, prairie-inspired songwriting and a breakout collaboration with Zach Bryan, the Alberta singer-songwriter has taken her music far beyond her Western Canadian roots.
Where Is Noeline Hofmann From?
Hofmann hails from the Badlands of Southern Alberta, where her experiences working in honky-tonks and as a ranch hand across the Canadian Prairies would later influence her songwriting.
After high school, Hofmann spent time working as a ranch hand in Manitoba before pursuing music full-time. Her rural upbringing remains central to her music, with songs often drawing from the people, landscapes and experiences of life on the Prairies.
How Did Noeline Hofmann Get Her Start?
Hofmann began gaining attention in 2023, but her career changed dramatically after she shared “Purple Gas” online. The song caught the attention of Zach Bryan, who invited her to perform it as part of his Belting Bronco video series.
Bryan later asked Hofmann to record “Purple Gas” as a duet for his 2024 album, The Great American Bar Scene. The collaboration became Hofmann’s first Billboard Hot 100 entry, debuting at No. 70.
Later that year, Hofmann released her debut EP, Purple Gas, and made her Grand Ole Opry debut. She has since shared stages with artists including Colter Wall, Charley Crockett, Turnpike Troubadours, Wyatt Flores, Zach Top and Wynonna Judd.
Noeline Hofmann’s Breakout in Canada
Hofmann’s success has also earned her major recognition at home. In 2025, she was crowned the winner of SiriusXM’s Top of the Country competition, taking home the $25,000 grand prize after performing at the finale during Country Music Week.
She followed that achievement with two nominations at the 2026 JUNO Awards, earning nods for Breakthrough Artist or Group of the Year and Contemporary Roots Album of the Year for Purple Gas.
What Are Noeline Hofmann’s Biggest Songs?
“Purple Gas” remains Hofmann’s best-known release, with the Zach Bryan collaboration approaching 150 million global streams. Her solo catalogue has also accumulated nearly 50 million streams.
Her Purple Gas EP introduced listeners to more of her songwriting through tracks including “Rodeo Junkies,” “August,” “One Hell of a Woman” and “Lightning in July (Prairie Fire).”
What Is Noeline Hofmann’s Latest Release?
On September 18, Hofmann released her latest single, “Wilson Silver Star 402 Blues.” Told from the perspective of a truck driver hauling cattle, the song blends country, Americana and folk influences while exploring the weight people carry through life.
The new track also marks the beginning of Hofmann’s next chapter: it is the first preview of her debut full-length album, expected in 2027.
Hofmann is currently touring North America with Shaboozey, with additional performances scheduled this fall, including a date supporting Charles Wesley Godwin at Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
