Get to know ‘Found’ singer Dan Davidson

Edmonton-born country artist Dan Davidson is a bit of a unique up-and-comer to Canadian country music. If you listen to country radio you’ll recognize the name of his hit single, ‘Found’. In March of 2016 Davidson released the song independently, and it quickly became the highest charting country single by an unsigned artist, and it’s still climbing.

We think there will be lots more to come from Mr. Dan Davidson, so we wanted to get to know him a little better. Here are a few of his favourite things!

Favourite city

Other than my hometown (Edmonton), I’ve always been a big fan of Saskatoon. Not the prettiest town in Canada, the roads are always diabolical, mosquitos are brutal … BUT I feel that there is real character there. I love the river valley and the university there. I’m also a huge fan of Kelowna (I got married there!).

Favourite date night

Staying in with my wife. Wine, popcorn, Orange Is The New Black… sounds good!

Favourite smell

Grapefruit

Favourite food

Fish tacos!

Favourite candy

Sour patch kids.

Favourite drink

Recently discovered the “Moscow Mule”, which I think is ginger beer, vodka and lime… delicious!

Favourite emoji

Not much of an emoji guy.

Favourite piece of advice

Be great and don’t go away.

Favourite on stage moment

Stepping on stage at Rexal place in front of 16,000 people anticipating the downbeat of the first song of the set.

Favourite place to perform

I’m really loving doing “songwriters in the round” type shows these days. I really enjoy just chatting with a crowd on an intimate level, chatting about the tune and making bad jokes.

Favourite country crush

Hmmmm… Mackenzie Porter isn’t too hard on the eyes… I’m also a pretty serious fan of the show she’s on called “Hell On Wheels”!

Favourite summer time moment

Getting out to the lake in Northern Manitoba to catch up with the family, and get out on the pontoon boat!

Favourite thing about FOUND

It absolutely blew the door of my expectations and helped me make a name in Canadian country music. Also, the music video has a dancing shark.

Favourite thing about the rest of the year to come

Getting out there to play some outdoor festivals and play all these new songs I’ve been working on all winter!
