Jason Aldean is ready to put the incident with former American Idol contestant Brittany Kerr behind him.
“The main thing is that me and my family are OK, and everything’s good there,” Jason told CMT. “It’s been a tough deal, but I said what I needed to say to them and, hopefully, they understand that. The rest of it will be us dealing with it in private and trying to fix it.”
The married, father of two was quick to issue an apology on Facebook after celebrity gossip site TMZ posted pictures of him kissing and getting intimate with Brittany at an LA Bar. In the interview with CMT he said, “You can go hide and run from it, or you can get up and face it and deal with it,” he added “That’s what we tried to do, and move on.”
Jason is very grateful for those who stood behind him during this very difficult time for him and his family, as he said, “I know everybody’s going to have their opinion, and for the people that know me and know what I’m about … the people that are standing by us and supporting us, all I’ve got to say to them is thanks.”
“I really appreciate it, and it’s been a really unfortunate thing. Really embarrassing, more than anything … It’s good, though. So for everybody that stood by us, I appreciate it.”
Jason is in the running for three awards including Entertainer of the Year at the 2012 CMA Awards that will be aired on November 1st, we will see if this incident will affect his chances of winning. Plus, his new album Night Train will be released next Tuesday, October 16th.
