After having so much fun hearing Autumn Hill confess their favourites and some other fun facts, we wanted to hear from Brett Kissel too! Watch out Calgary, you might not be too happy with him if you’re a Flames fan!

What is your favourite Jann Arden song?

INSENSITIVE!

What is your favourite thing about Calgary?

Watching the Edmonton Oilers come into the Saddledome and beat the Flames. Or The Calgary Stampede.

What is your pre-performance ritual?

I wear a pair of funky, weird, colorful, random socks every show day. Then before each show, as a band we gather in a circle, put our fists in the middle and shout out the name of the show we are doing. For example, we’d yell out “3-2-1 IT’S THE JUNOS BABY! WOOOOOOO”. Then we take the stage.

How many cowboy hats do you have?

I have likely 40 or 50 cowboy hats. But I only wear one. The hat I wear I got when I was 14, and haven’t worn another – likely never will.

How old were you when you got your first pair of cowboy boots?

I think I got a pair of cowboy boots before any other footwear. I was probably put into a pair of cowboy boots the day I was born.

Have you milked a cow?

Of course! I’m a cattle rancher!

Which Pick Me Up song did you enjoy recording the most?

Cool With That, my new single, was so much fun to record. My band got to play on that track, and we rocked it just like we do when we play it on stage. So it’s got a great live feel to it. I’m very proud of my guys and the job they did on that song.

What is your favourite city?

Nashville.

What is your favourite emoji?

The dog emoji. I text my wife all the time and ask, how’s 🐶?

Favourite date night?

Fancy dinner. Fancy restaurant. All dressed up.

Favourite smell?

Any one of Cecilia’s perfumes.

Favourite food?

Steak.

Hard work pays off.
