Country Star Dean Brody Wins Country Album of the Year at 2016 JUNO Awards
It’s been a great weekend for country music in Canada, and most particularly for Halifax-native Dean Brody! Taking home the JUNO Award for Country Album of the Year for ‘Gypsy Road’, and being the only country artist to perform at the broadcast awards (and you can call me biased but his performance was arguably the best one), Dean Brody beat out other amazing artists Brett Kissel, Paul Brandt, Autumn Hill, and High Valley.
Additionally, Dean Brody was nominated for the JUNO Fan Choice Award. Johnny Reid was the last country artist to be nominated in that category in 2011. Shania Twain won the very first Fans Choice Award in 2003, and remains the only country artist to ever win the award, with no country artists winning since.
