Eric Church to tour Canada?

Well, Eric Church said it. Take from it what you want, but will he tour Canada in early 2013? Church recently was interviewed by WKIS in Florida, facing rumours that he will tour with Kenny Chesney in 2013.

It’s still rumor stage, but I can at least say most of next year off is true,” Eric says. “We’re doing some shows in Canada first part of the year but as far as the U.S. goes, I think it’s looking like we maybe do 20 shows across the country. We’re going to play a few things but we’re not on tour, we’re going to take big chunks off. I’m going to try and focus on, from a songwriting standpoint and a record standpoint, where we go next and where we go from here. Regardless of what happens with touring with anybody else, we’re going to be taking most of the year off.”

Church plans to spend the rest of 2012 on his ‘Blood, Sweat, and Tears Tour’, as well as attend the CMA Awards on November 1st. There he is up for a whopping five awards, including Album of the Year for his #1 project, Chief. He also will be recording his first live album at the Trivoli Theatre in Chattanooga, Tennessee in October, which is set to be released early next year.

It sounds like he will spend most of 2013 writing for the follow-up to Chief, but not before coming to see us first. That trip to the Canadian Country Music Awards just a couple weeks ago must have left an impression on Eric.

Where and when will he play for his Canadian fans? I guess we will have to wait and see.
