They named their album It’z Just What We Do and they did it! Florida Georgia Line wrote their debut single ‘Cruise’ in about 25 minutes and it’s been burning up the charts since its release. The song scored them their first gold record.

The single has sold more than 500,000 copies in five months and 10,000 in a single day. The FGL guys are legally known as Brian Kelley (Florida) and Tyler Hubbard (Georgia), and met three years ago in Nashville. They started writing and performing songs shortly thereafter. Due to their similar upbringings, they hit it off immediately.

“The gold record is awesome. ‘Cruise’ is bigger than we ever dreamed it would be,” said Tyler. “But really, it’s not about plaques. I mean, 500,000 people are listening to our song. That’s cool and humbling and surreal and, to be honest, made us very emotional.”
