In celebration of his recent Canadian Country Music Association Awards, upcoming album launch and fall tour with Reba McEntire, Gord Bamford is donating $100,000 to children’s hospitals across Canada.
Created in 2008, the Gord Bamford Charitable Foundation has generated nearly $1.5 million thanks to an annual charity golf classic hosted by Bamford in Alberta every summer. The money raised for the foundation has gone to support underprivileged youth and single parent families in Canada by supporting education, health care and music.
Children’s hospitals are also a priority for Bamford and he’s quick to recognize that music is a form of therapy for children who are ill. Bamford will be presenting eight children’s hospitals across Canada with a $10,000 cheque from his foundation with two hospitals in Alberta already having received $10,000 each for their music therapy programs.
