Lee Ann Womack has parted ways with Universal Music Group her record label of 14 years. Womack is best known for her song ‘I Hope You Dance’, which reached #1 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks and Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks charts.  In her time with Universal, she has had more than twenty Top 40 singles and sold over five million albums.

In a recent interview with Country Weekly, she said, “[I’m] so appreciative to the wonderful MCA staff for giving me their all from my first days at Decca, through ‘I Hope You Dance,’ the awards for ‘I May Hate Myself in the Morning’ and There’s More Where That Came From. She added, “I am excited to see what comes next for so many people I think of as my friends, and am eager to see what life after ‘leaving home’ is like.”

Lee Ann seems excited to let fans hear some new music she’s been working on as she posted on her website, “I’ve been living with this music now for months, and I’m dying to let the fans hear some.”
