The Road Hammers
Strap yourself in and hang on The Road Hammers are back with Wheels (Open Road Recordings), a record that will resonate deeply with anyone who ever up and shook the dust off their boots and hit the road just for the hell of it. Scheduled for release on June 3rd, Wheels is a tight set of raw and uncompromising tunes that telegraphs the unique sense of freedom found by getting behind the wheel of something, anything, and getting the hell out of Dodge. Nowhere is that more evident than on Wheels second single ‘Mud,’ a track dedicated to people who love getting dirty at high speed on motorbikes, trucks, hot rods or whatever they can fire up and head out on.
With over 20 Top 10 singles, Doc Walker is one of the most recognized Canadian country acts of the past two decades. The group has received multiple Canadian Country Music Awards, including Fans‟ Choice, Group or Duo of the Year, CMT Video of the Year, Single of the Year, and Country Music Program or Special of the Year. In addition, Doc Walker has been nominated for several JUNO Awards for Country Album of the Year, including a win in 2009 for the album Beautiful Life. The band‟s seventh album, 16 & 1, released in 2011, was a bit of a sea change for the group musically, but still reflected the values that have made the band enduringly popular over time. Now, Doc Walker prepares to release their eighth full length album, which will include the Top 10 hit “Put It Into Drive,” and the forthcoming single “Shake It Like It‟s Saturday Night,” which was released to country radio on April 8th, 2014.
Blackjack Billy is Rob Blackledge, Noll Billings, Jeff Coplan and Brad Cummings. The driving rhythms, rocking riffs, screaming harmonies and high octane live show have already established this country band as a must see act of 2013. In only their first year on the road, the boys have played over 100 shows and shared the stage with some of the all times greats ranging from Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Doobie Brothers to Travis Tritt and Montgomery Gentry. Blackledge brings the Mississippi blues and soul to Billings’ southern rock country roots as they bounce back and forth on lead vocals, while Cornell’s driving bass and Coplan’s hard edge tasty guitar playing dominate the stage. Cummings holds it all down and drives the ship on the drums creating the unique sound of Blackjack Billy. Already successful songwriters penning hit songs for other artists, BjB independently released their song The Booze Cruise in the summer of 2013 and have sold over 180,000 downloads internationally, including over 125,000 in the US alone and Gold status in Canada. The boys are out road dogging every week as they continue building their army of fans.
