‘Over You’ gets more personal for Miranda

Miranda Lambert‘s new single ‘Over You’ is meaning more to her lately. The song, which was written with her husband Blake Shelton, was inspired by Blake’s late brother who passed away when Blake was young. Over the past few weeks, Miranda and Blake have experienced the losses of both Blake’s father earlier in January and then Miranda’s childhood friend last week.

Miranda tweeted, “I have lost a friend I’ve had since the 3rd grade today in a tragic accident. When will this pain end. Pray for peace.”

Yesterday, Miranda shot the video for ‘Over You’ with director Trey Fanjoy. She tweeted after the shoot, “It was an emotional day. Trey Fanjoy=amazing director. Her pain & mine together make this video so passionate. God Bless our lost loved ones.”

The new single is the second off her new album Four the Record, which came out last November. Until the video debuts, you can preview the track below.

Miranda and Blake will perform ‘America the Beautiful’ prior to the kick off at the Super Bowl in Indianapolis this Sunday, February 5. The game will air live on NBC.
