Pick of the Week: High Valley’s powerful new single

High Valley‘s powerful new single ‘Trying To Believe’ has an even more powerful video. The brothers from La Crete, Alberta have delivered a soul-searching, heartfelt song that makes us ask the big questions in life.

“In La Crete, everyone’s experience is very similar, and everybody believes basically the same thing,” Brad reflects. “In Nashville, there are creative people everywhere, and that leads to a lot of free thinking and individuality. Life is not as cut and dried as when I was a young boy. It’s not even as cut and dried as it was two years ago before I was trying to raise a boy that has a million questions per day. I realize now that our relationship to those difficult questions is constantly evolving. Trying to figure out the answer is all part of the journey. It’s what keeps us growing.”

The powerful lyrics and haunting harmonies blend together in a musical sermon of sorts.

“I’m stubborn as the day is long
I struggle with God but hey don’t we all
Walk the line, then I straddle the fence
Blame it on the devil when it don’t make sense
I’ll take my chances on what I can’t see
Don’t wanna die never trying to believe”

If anything, this songs gets you questioning what you believe (no matter what that may be) and how that will reflect on our next generation. Another solid release from the Rempel Brothers.
