Tim McGraw got the surprise of a lifetime this past Friday when he was inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame in an impromptu ceremony while on a tour stop in New Orleans.

Louisiana Music Hall of Fame President Mike Shepherd came out in the middle of McGraw’s set to present him with a custom plaque honouring his musical accomplishments and contributions to Louisiana’s rich musical history. Other Louisiana musicians that have been inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame include Louis Armstrong, Jerry Lee Lewis and Mickey Gilley.

McGraw is currently on the Brothers of the Sun Tour with Kenny Chesney. It was just announced yesterday that McGraw, along with his wife Faith Hill will bring their Soul 2 Soul show to Las Vegas starting in December.
