Top Moments from the 2019 CMA Awards

It has been an incredible year for country music and last night’s 53rd Annual CMA Awards was no exception. With performances from Blake Shelton and Dolly Parton to epic collaborations from Lady Antebellum/ Halsey, Kacey Musgraves/Willie Nelson and Chris Stapleton/P!nk the show arguably had its biggest year yet with viewership up 12%. It is hard to choose but below are some of the top moments from the 2019 CMA Awards!

What was your favourite moment of the night?

The Ladies of Country Performance

Although we love our country men, the ladies of country were the shining stars last night. Carrie was joined by Reba and Dolly to host the awards this year and the show launched with a performance from various female country legends, including our very own Terri Clark!

Chris Stapleton and P!nk ‘Love Me Anyway’

Let’s just say that the entire audience had goosebumps during this performance. Their harmonies were incredible. We’ve been re-watching this collaboration all day long.

‘Girl Crush’ featuring Lindsay Ell

Another shining moment for the talented ladies, including one of our favourites Lindsay Ell. Lindsay walked out after Kelsea finished her stunning performance of ‘Homecoming Queen’ to start ‘Girl Crush’. Maddie & Tae, Runnaway June, Carly Pearce, Ashley McBryde and Little Big Town joined in as well. We have BIG girl crushes on all of you ladies.

Willie Nelson and Kacey Musgraves “Rainbow Connection”

If there are two people that can create a rainbow at the CMA Awards, it’s Kacey Musgraves and Willie Nelson. This was an incredible moment to watch Female Vocalist of the Year winner Kacey Musgraves sing next to one of her idols. We were fortunate enough to watch Kacey break ticket records last month in the same arena. There truly is a rainbow over your head Kacey and we can’t wait to watch you perform under it for many more years to come.

Maren Morris – Album of the Year Speech

Easily the most emotional moment of the night was when Maren Morris took home Album of the Year for GIRL. Many people in attendance were deeply affected by the recent loss of her brilliant producer Busbee. He did an absolutely perfect job on GIRL and Maren, Busbee and their entire team couldn’t have been more deserving of this award. Thank you, Busbee for everything you have given to the country music community and fans around the world.
