By now you’ve probably heard about Trace Adkins getting into a fight (with a Trace Adkins impersonator!!!) during a Country Cruising Event in the Caribbean which also featured Wynonna Judd, Montgomery Gentry, Craig Morgan and JT Hodges.
Love and Theft’s Stephen Barker was also on the cruise and was just a couple of feet away when the incident took place. He told a Sacramento radio station “You know, there’s only so much you can take when someone’s trying to be you. Eventually you’re like, okay bro, I’ve been doing this for 20 years, you’ve been following me around….and now you’re going to come on this small cruise ship…”
Allegedly, Trace (the real one) had been drinking (he’s been sober for over 10 years) when he confronted the impersonator on the ship. Barker went on to say that he did not see any punches thrown, but Adkins just got up in his face and confronted him. Trace immediately left the ship and entered rehab.
