Artist: The Road Hammers

Album: Wheels

Label: Open Road Recordings

Rating: 4.5/5

The Road Hammers have released their newest album Wheels this week and they have managed to infuse southern rock and country perfectly.

Last fall, you heardGet On Down the Roadand now with their latest single “Mud” you can’t help but get into it and sing-along (plus the music video is awesome!). The instruments from guitar to bass to drums, strong vocals and solid penmanship create an amazing sound with songs like “Wheels“, “Roll On Down The Highway“, “I’ve Been Everywhere“and they’ve recorded a bad ass version of Steve Earle’s ‘Hillbilly Highway‘.

They slowdown the pace for “Annie” and “You’re My Highway” but I must say they saved the best for last with Fender Benders“. They haven’t released any new music together since The Road Hammers II in 2009 but this album is packed with eleven tracks that are more than worth the wait. The Road Hammers will be playing shows across the country this summer, check out the show listings here.
