This month’s Fresh Find artist is 2013 International Music and Entertainment Association Country Entertainer of the Year, Amy Rose. Rose grew up in Barrie, Ontario and has come a long way since performing in her first singing contest at the Barrie Promenade Days fair. Her first two U.S. singles reached the Top 10 on the New Music Weekly country chart and her current single “Sunshine” is sitting at #14 on the same chart. Rose also recently performed at CMA Fest in Nashville and opened up for Big & Rich and she is working hard to fight drinking and driving through her work with Bright Star International. Who are some of your biggest musical influences?
A
I grew up listening to the great classic country music with strong influence from Pasty Cline, Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn and my ultimate idol Mrs. Dolly Parton whom FYI I would LOVE to perform with!!! (I absolutely adore Dolly)

Your current single “Sunshine” recently charted on the NMW Top 25 in the U.S., can you tell us a bit about it?
A
“Sunshine” is a song that took me all of two seconds to know that this was a song I wanted to record… The lyrical message is so powerful and moving as it explains the hurt and pain we all deal with from the loss of a loved one…We seem to have that one simple question that seems to be the hardest to answer and that’s “how” do we move forward without the one we love…

What’s been the most memorable experience in your career so far?
A
As a singer /songwriter nothing in this industry is more rewarding and a greater feeling then to see people singing your songs and I got to experience that feeling this past summer when opening up for country duo Big & Rich to a sold out crowd and looking into the audience to see people singing a song I had the honor of co-writing and releasing called “Party Like A Redneck”… (Definitely made me smile lots, actually I’m still walking around with that smile) Hehe!

What do you having coming up in 2014 that fans can look forward to?
A
A lot of awesome things in store for 2014! I’ll be heading back on the road in February to Nashville, TN to perform on the Billy Block Show… Also while in Nashville, I’ll be attending the Nashville Universe Awards where I have 2 nominations… I have a new sassy up-beat single coming out mid March called “Country Crazy” which we’ll be shooting a music video for… A ton of shows, radio/ press interviews and a whole lot of REDNECK F.U.N! Hahaha
