Keith Urban – Light The Fuse Tour Review – Jan 24, 2014
Toronto was the last stop on the Canadian leg of the Light The Fuse tour and boy was it a great night! Keith played the Air Canada Centre on Friday along with newcomer Brett Eldredge and foursome Little Big Town.
Illinois-born Brett Eldredge started off the evening with ‘Tell Me Where to Park’ a track from his Bring You Back album released in the summer of 2013. He played his number one hit ‘Don’t Ya’ and his new single ‘Beat of the Music’ which should be hitting Canadian airwaves soon. Then he decided to get a little groovy by playing his version of Al Green’s ‘Let’s Stay Together’ which was great. He played a strong set with his raspy and toned vocals to kill, I was very impressed.
Next up was Little Big Town, this group is one of my favourites. They have perfect vocals, harmonies and chemistry between them and it really shows in their music. They started their set off with ‘’Little White Church’ and brought me back to 2006 with ‘Bring It On Home’. They played their newest single ‘ Sober’ and ‘Your Side Of The Bed’ to slow it down followed a bit later with three of their biggest songs ‘ Tornado’, the chart topper ‘Pontoon’ and last but not least ‘Boondocks’. As per usual, they were amazing and the crowd seemed to really enjoy their performance.
Now, it’s time to talk about the man behind it all – the thunder from down under Keith Urban. He started his set off with a wicked instrumental followed by ‘Long Hot Summer’ (considering it is January, he made sure to heat up the Air Canada Centre). He played older songs ‘Sweet Thing’, ‘Stupid Boy’, ‘Better Life’ ‘Who Wouldn’t Wanna Be Me’ and ‘Once In A Lifetime’ to name a few. Plus, of course he played songs from Fuse such as ‘Raise ‘Em Up’, ‘Even The Stars Fall 4 You’, ‘Little Bit of Everything’, ‘Good Thing’ and his new single ‘Cop Car’. He also collaborated on ‘You Gonna Fly’ with LBT, ‘Kiss a Girl’ with Brett and ‘We Were Us’ with Karen from LBT.
Three of the luckiest girls alive were chosen to come to the stage and Keith played an acoustic version of ‘Making Memories of Us’ for them. It was a delightful scene and very heartfelt. About halfway through the show he moved to a smaller stage where he played his own songs and covers of The Who, Adele, Loverboy and Blake Shelton.
Of course, after all of this excitement Keith came back up for an encore and ended the show with ‘You Look Good in My Shirt’ and might I add, Keith looked great in his shirt…eventually coming out with a Maple Leafs Jersey.
The talent by all performers was impeccable and they truly put on an amazing show! I’m sure you have heard of the fans of Keith who have seen him live over 100 times and I can understand why. He’s not only one of country music best looking guys but he is filled with talent.
