Country music fans are known for their love of beer. It’s a fact. Whether you enjoy ales, pilsners, stouts or lagers, we can all agree that beer and country music go together like peanut butter and jam! April 7th is Beer Day so what better way to celebrate then by raising a pint (or can, or bottle) to the best beverage in the world. We’ve put together a list of the top country beer songs out there so that you can enjoy some songs about suds while enjoying some suds. Drink responsibly, and enjoy Beer Day!
Stronger Beer – Tim Hicks
Canada is known for hockey, being polite, and best of all, strong beer! Tim Hicks’ “Stronger Beer” is one of those songs that makes you proud to be Canadian. He outlines many differences and similarities between us and our neighbours down south but the most important one of all is the fact that up here, we have stronger beer!
Hold My Beer – Aaron Pritchett
“Hold My Beer” won Aaron Pritchett (along with fellow co-writers Deric Ruttan and Mitch Merrit) a CCMA for Songwriter of the Year in 2007, his first one ever. The song continues to be a hot play at country bars everywhere. When you’re about to make your move, someone needs to hold your beer!
Beer In Mexico – Kenny Chesney
“Beer In Mexico” was Kenny Chesney’s first song to reach number 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart that was written entirely by himself. It tells the tale of a man being at a “crossroads” in his life and struggling with certain decisions he has to make for himself. With all of that on his mind, he decides that the best thing to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy the moment with a beer in Mexico.
Beer Weather – Cold Creek Country
Slowly but surely temperatures are getting warmer which means it’s about that time to fill up our coolers, grab a lawn chair and crank up the speakers. There is nothing better than beer weather and kicking back with a cold one on a hot summer day.
Wish You Were Beer – The Reklaws
Off of The Reklaws’ new EP Long Live The Night, this song about forgetting your ex and enjoying an ice cold beer features James Barker Band. The Reklaws and James Barker Band do a fantastic job of portraying beer as a great date for the evening. We feel that there will be plenty more great songs about beer to come from The Reklaws!
Beer In The Headlights – Luke Bryan
This anthem off of Luke Bryan’s hit album Crash My Party, is one of his most popular songs and a huge sing along tune for country music fans. How can you not love the line “you got the beautiful, I got the cooler full”?
Blood Sweat And Beer – Blackjack Billy
After a hard day’s work, a cold beer can really hit the spot. Blackjack Billy tell us that all it takes is a little blood, sweat, and beer to get where you need to be!
Breakfast Beer – Gord Bamford
In “Breakfast Beer”, Canadian country icon Gord Bamford shows us how to have a great time on vacation and how we can make the most of our time away from responsibilities. With nowhere to be and not a worry in the world, crack open a Bud Light, Molson Ice or Corona in the morning and cure your hangover with what started it!
Beer Money – Kip Moore
“Beer Money” was Kip Moore’s second single off of his debut album and peaked at number 3 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. Beer isn’t cheap and sometimes all it takes for a good night out is some solid company and a little bit of beer money!
Beer For My Horses – Toby Keith and Willie Nelson
This Grammy nominated duet by country legends Toby Keith and Willie Nelson is about a couple of vigilantes drinking and celebrating after successfully completing their work. “Beer For My Horses” made Willie Nelson the oldest artist to top the country charts at age 70 in the year 2002.
