Open Road Recordings is proud to welcome singer, songwriter and rising star, Dustin Bird to their roster. “Dustin brings a fresh creative energy and a variety of original songs. We are excited to kick off ’21 with this multi-talented artist,” says Ron Kitchener, CEO of Open Road Recordings.
Bird’s debut album, Unscripted released on February 5. Dustin wrote and produced every song on the album except for the title track, which was co-written by Tyler Shaw, Dave Thompson and Jeff Dalziel, and produced by Dalziel. From the disco-funk groove of “It Ain’t Me” and “Rolling Stone” to the sweet modern country ballad “Every Little Town,” Unscripted truly showcases Bird’s diverse talents.
“I am truly excited to be partnering with ORR to bring you my debut album. The team and I can’t wait to introduce you to this new chapter. I wanted to bring a new level of honesty in my writing and let everything that inspires me shine through. I can’t wait for people to discover a part of it that they can connect with,” says Bird.
The lead-off single, “Broke and Lonely,” is at Canadian country radio now (March 1, 2021). The single captures the raw emotion of feeling alone, with an underlying message of hope and encouragement.
Bird’s manager, Jeremy Johnson of Johnson Talent Management, is looking forward to working with Open Road. “Dustin has a unique ability to write, record and produce and continues to make a name for himself in this industry. Our partnership with ORR is going to ensure we build a lasting music career for Dustin,” says Johnson.
As a singer, songwriter and producer, Dustin Bird recently earned a Country Music Association of Ontario Rising Star nomination, a Top 40 Australian country airplay single and was a Jim Beam National Talent Search Finalist. Along with that, Dustin co-wrote and produced “Together We’re Strong,”a charity single in support of the Unison Benevolent Fund featuring artists Jason McCoy, Alee, Aaron Pritchett and Cory Marks.
