Sony’s Legacy Recordings released We Walk the Line: A Celebration of the Music of Johnny Cash on Tuesday August 7, 2012. The recorded tribute concert to the man in black took place at the Moody Theater in Austin, Texas on April 20, 2012 and is now available as a CD/DVD package and on Blu-ray.
Highlights include Sheryl Crow’s cover of Cash classic, “Cry, Cry, Cry” and outlaw legend Willie Nelson’s appearance on 3 of 20 tracks. Pop star Andy Grammer (“Keep Your Head Up”, 2011) revives “Get Rhythm” and Train’s Pat Monahan belts out “Help Me Make It Through the Night.” This year marks what would have been the American music icon’s 80th birthday.
