Blackjack Billy’s new EP ‘Get Some’ released, October 29th, 2013. Their previous single, “The Booze Cruise” was recently certified platinum and TC got a chance to chat with the redneck rock band about what we can expect from their latest release.

Q: Tell us a bit about your new EP, what can fans expect?

A: The theme of this EP is ‘having a good time’. There are many different sides to Blackjack Billy but on this EP we want to come out with a bang. We hope you to put the CD in and crank it up, smile and cut loose.

Q:What’s a song on it you’re really excited for people to hear?

A:“Born To Ride”, the spirit of being on an open road, full throttle and free. We love the energy of it.

Q: You’ve had a pretty crazy year so far, what’s been one of the most memorable moments?

A: Playing the first downbeat of The Booze Cruise at Country Concert in Ohio, June 2013, and being absolutely blown away and humbled watching a couple of thousand people go ape shit.

Q: Any plans on coming to Canada soon?

A: We are thrilled to be making our first trip to Western Canada November 4-6. A definite highlight will be playing in Vancouver with our buddy Tim Hicks. The Canadian fans have really embraced us and we are pumped to be able to meet them and return the love.

Biography

Blackjack Billy is Rob Blackledge, Noll Billings, Jeff Coplan, Patrick Cornell, and Brad Cummings

The driving rhythms, rocking riffs, screaming harmonies and high octane live show have already established this country band as a must see act of 2013. In only their first year on the road, the boys have played over 100 shows and shared the stage with some of the all times greats ranging from Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Doobie Brothers to Travis Tritt and Montgomery Gentry.

Blackledge brings the Mississippi blues and soul to Billings’ southern rock country roots as they bounce back and forth on lead vocals, while Cornell’s driving bass and Coplan’s hard edge tasty guitar playing dominate the stage. Cummings holds it all down and drives the ship on the drums creating the unique sound of Blackjack Billy.

Already successful songwriters penning hit songs for other artists, BjB independently released their song The Booze Cruise in the summer of 2013 and have sold over 180,000 downloads internationally, including over 125,000 in the US alone and Gold status in Canada. The boys are out road dogging every week as they continue building their army of fans.
