You’d THINK Hank Williams Jr would know better.
Last October he lost his gig singing the NFL Monday Night Football theme after comparing President Obama to Hitler.
Then in July he stated in an interview with Rolling Stone Magazine that Obama hates America.
*sigh*
And now this past weekend at the Iowa State Fair, Williams said about the President: “We’ve got a Muslim president who hates farming, hates the military, hates the U.S. and we hate him!”
The comments were reportedly met with “loud and enthusiastic” cheers.
A spokesperson from Obama’s Iowa campaign office told Metromix: “That type of absurd nonsense doesn’t really deserve a response.”
My question is, remember when the Dixie Chicks were practically hanged because of their comments about George Bush? How angry people became and the record burning, etc? What’s the difference here? Hey, I’m all for free speech, but seriously, why isn’t anyone up in arms about Hank’s comments? Not only that, his Hitler and Muslim comments don’t even make sense… Doesn’t anyone see a double standard here?
But, I guess it’s all of Hank’s Rowdy friends who were burning Chicks’ CDs….
