The story behind Marlee Scott’s ‘Train Wreck’

Ever wonder where some songs come from? What entices writers to come up with certain phrases or melodies? Marlee Scott recently sat down with the writers of her hit ‘Train Wreck’, Sarah Buxton, Jedd Hughes and Marcus Hummon. Not only did she sit down to chat with them about the song, the whole group jammed it out on a front porch in Nashville.

For those of you who don’t know much about the writers of this song, Sarah Buxton and Jedd Hughes had a hand in writing Keith Urban‘s ‘Put You In a Song’. While Marcus Hummon has had several #1 songs as a writer, including Rascal Flatts‘ ‘Bless the Broken Road’, Sara Evans‘ ‘Born to Fly’ and the Dixie Chicks‘ ‘Cowboy Take Me Away’.

It seems Marlee keeps quite the talented company these days. Speaking of talent, her new album Beautfiul Maybe will be available on June 19.
