TOP COUNTRY MOMENTS
We asked some of this year’s CCMA Award nominees to tell us about their top country moment (so far) as an artist and/or country music fan!
Gord Bamford
There have been so many great moments from meeting Merle Haggard to being part of the Guinness World Record-setting 50th Anniversary ACM Awards in Dallas, TX. But, a recent moment was having the chance to meet and hang out with Garth Brooks. I soaked up every word he said!
Cold Creek County
Having our debut single Our Town hit #6 on the Billboard Canada Country chart, and the day we got signed to Sony!
Madeline Merlo
Playing Sunfest this summer! 10,000 of the most enthusiastic and fun people singing along to my song. That, and going to a Shania Twain concert when I was 10 years old. It changed everything for me.
Brett Kissel
Although there are many top country moments for me, I have to say that performing on the Grand Ole Opry, standing in that sacred circle, and entertaining country fans the same way Johnny Cash, Garth Brooks or Brad Paisley have done in the past, is at the very top of the list.
Wes Mack
My top country moment would have to be the first time I opened for Florida Georgia Line. Nobody had any idea who I was and I’ve never heard a crowd so loud in my life. It was amazing. Another moment was the time I saw Dierks Bentley play in 2008 on the Coca Cola Stage in Calgary. I went home the next day and wrote my very first country song. Watching him was such an amazing experience and inspired me like nothing had before. I was so impressed by the degree of showmanship that Dierks and his band exhibited, it made me want to be part of it all.
The Lovelocks
Our top country moments have been winning the 2014 Discovery Program, recording our second EP and playing CMA Fest, Big Valley Jamboree and Boots and Hearts main stage! All have been a dream come true.
