Artist: Deric Ruttan

Album: Take the Week Off

Label: Black T Records/Universal Music Canada

Rating: 4/5

Ontario native Deric Ruttan released his fourth studio album Take the Week Off on Oct.15 and the twelve track album delivers some real good tunes.

We all know Deric has great singing abilities but what you may not know is that he’s also penned some amazing songs for country megastars such as Eric Church, Dierks Bentley and Blake Shelton. Take the Week Off includes his version of ‘Mine Would Be You’, a song Ruttan co-wrote that is a current hit for Blake Shelton.

The album also features upbeat, good time songs ‘Pass It Around’ and ‘Don’t It Feel Good’. Ruttan keeps us listening with sweet ballads ‘The Space Between’ and ‘What A Memory’ (My personal favourite on the album). The last song on the album ‘Hometown’ is the real deal and reminds us to be proud of where we come from.

Ruttan will be playing in a city near you on the Your Town Throwdown tour with country cuties Chad Brownlee and Jason Blaine. Check out the tour dates and grab your tickets by visiting  http://yourtownthrowdown.com/website/category/tour/.
