Q&A
Q: Can you tell us a bit about your new album?
A: This album has been such a labour of love, and so happy that I was able to make it with great friends. It’s Country, and that’s what I love about it the most.
Q: What was the process of creating it like?
A: Some of these songs came together very quickly, and we knew they were special right away. Sitting in a room and wearing your heart on your sleeve can be very humbling during a writing session. Writing, and in the studio I have always felt at “home”…that I was doing what I was put here to do.
Q: What’s a song from the album you are particularly proud of and why?
A: It’s hard to pick just one. It’s like picking your favourite kid, so I’ll pick two. I’d Rather Be Lonely, musically hits me every time and sends me right to ‘the zone”. Soldiers Wife, that was a co-write with Jason Blaine, and the reaction I receive every time I play that song is very special. I love that it paints a picture the entire way through.
Q: Congratulations on reaching #5 on the iTunes chart, how does it feel?
A: I’ve been looking for that answer all day long. I didn’t see this coming, and it feels pretty surreal right now. I’m so grateful for everyone jumping on board so soon.
Q: What else do you have coming up that fans can look forward to?
A: We will be releasing a new single very soon, and hopefully a new video too!
