It’s hard to believe that 2017 is almost over. It’s been a wild ride filled with highs and lows and now it’s time to go out with a bang. And by that I mean a fun, lively and unforgettable New Year’s Eve party of course!

Planning the perfect New Year’s Eve party can be a lot of pressure for a host. You have to make sure that everything – from the food to the music to the decorations – is perfect for the biggest party night of the year, and the next year!

It’s hard to find time to plan a New Year’s Eve party. With Christmas barely over, you have just enough time to take a quick breath before you’re jumping right back in to holiday party planning mode.

In order to take a little bit of the weight off of your shoulders, we’ve come up with some awesome decoration ideas for a country New Year’s Eve.

1. Posters of your favourite country artists

What’s one thing that all of the greatest parties ever have in common? Karaoke! Why not set up a Karaoke station at your New Year’s Eve party and let your guests sing their way into the new year. For that extra added touch, you can decorate the Karaoke area with posters of your guests’ favourite country artists.

2. Burlap

Nothing says country rustic chic like a little bit of burlap. The best part is that it’s so versatile. Use it to tie around mason jars to create candle holders or centrepieces. Use it as a placemat for your table settings or as a table runner. Use it for basically anything.

3. Cowboys and cowgirls

When people think country, they think cowboys and cowgirls. Decorate your house with all of the western staples. Plaids and flannels, horses, wooden decor. Better yet, make it a theme party and have your guests dress up! What could be better than ringing in the new year in a pair of Levi’s, cowboy boots and cowboy hat?

4. Beer Cake

Everyone loves cake and everyone loves beer, so why not combine the two?! Skip the hassle of slaving away in the kitchen for hours trying to bake the perfect cake that will appease every guest at the party – even the pickiest eaters. A DIY beer cake is simple to make and only requires one simple ingredient. Plus, you can guarantee that your guests will love it. After all, beer is basically the official beverage of country.

5. Wooden picture/note board

If you’ve got an old slab of wood lying around or maybe you have an old piece of furniture that you can use for scraps, turn it into a picture or note board. All you need is the wood slab, a couple of tacks or nails, some paper and maybe a polaroid camera. Set up the board in your living room or by the front entrance and have guests take pictures with the polaroid camera and pin them to the board. If you don’t have a polaroid handy, simply ask guests to write down their new year’s resolutions or their favourite memory of 2017 and pin it to the board.  Your guests will have a blast with it, and will love reading what everyone else has to say.
