Seems like there are a lot of celebrities making “drunken mistakes” lately… Randy Travis, Amanda Bynes, Lindsay Lohen… and now Jason Aldean is admitting to cheating on his wife with American Idol alum Brittney Kerr.
Now, while Aldean says he went back to his bus alone… Kerr claims to have not known he was married (guess she missed the wedding ring…) and that the whole thing was a “lapse in judgement”.
“The actions I portrayed recently were not a representation of my true character, but a lapse in judgment on my part,” Kerr said in a statement released through her publicist. “I would like to sincerely apologize to everyone that has been affected by this, including my friends and family.”
Consequently, Kerr had to shut down her Twitter account when on the receiving end of some nasty public backlash, while Aldean is thanking his fans for all the public support. Didn’t notice any “backlash” on his account (unless his “people” are deleting negative comments..) Aldean’s also stating that it was truly cheating since he went back to the bus alone (I’m pretty sure his wife would disagree…)
Now, I’m not standing up for Kerr… yes, they both did something stupid. First of all, COME ON CHICK!! The wedding ring wasn’t a tip off?? What were you THINKING??? But I don’t think SHE deserves all the blame. And Aldean, fer chrissake, IN A PUBLIC BAR???!!! You must be some kind of stupid if you thought this was a good idea.
“Drunken mistake”… hmmm. When are celebrities going to accept responsibility for their own behaviour and quit blaming it on the booze? Man up, Aldean! Sure, the public apology was good, but seriously, clean up your act before you end up showing up naked in convenience stores...
Does this make you have less respect for Jason Aldean? Will you still buy his music? Should this matter?
