Tim McGraw is looking better than ever and sounding at his best. Last week he rocked the Molson Ampitheatre in Toronto, Ont. to a sold out crowd on his Two Lanes of Freedom Tour. He played a great range of hits from the 90’s to present day and he showed us that we still like it, we love it and we want some more of it!
Opening for Tim were country cuties Love and Theft and country rocker Brantley Gilbert. Love and Theft started their set with their first single from their album World Wide Open, ‘Runaway’ and played their most recent single ‘ If You Ever Get Lonely’. The boys ended with their number one hit, ‘Angel Eyes’ from their self-titled album. Love and Theft was great and very well received by the crowd. Next up was Brantley Gilbert, this guy has some serious skills as a songwriter, musician, singer and entertainer. He started off with a song that he wrote that was picked up, recorded and made a hit by Jason Aldean, ‘My Kinda Party’. Gilbert played for about an hour and rocked the crowd in true southern boy fashion by tugging at our heart strings with songs like ‘ You Don’t Know Her Like I Do’ – (which he said has new meaning to him since his recent engagement to singer Jana Kramer!) and ‘More Than Miles’ then he played some good ole tunes like ‘Dirt Road Anthem’, ‘Kick It In The Sticks’ and his number one single ‘Country Must Be Country Wide.’
Then it was time for Tim, he started the show by running through the crowd onto the stage and opening with ‘Where The Green Grass Grows’. Fans sang his ’98 hit word for word creating an amazing atmosphere for all! McGraw played for more than two hours playing hits such as ‘Indian Outlaw’, ‘Felt Good On My Lips’, ‘Something Like That’,’ The Cowboy In Me’, ‘Live Like You Were Dying’, ‘One Of Those Nights’, ‘I Like It, I Love It’ and his newest single ‘Southern Girl’. He came back out for an encore and finished off his set with ‘Truck Yeah’.
Tim proved last week (as he has time and time again!) just why he has been a leading man in country music for over 20 years. He is the kind of artist that you don’t want to miss, he is a stellar performer and you won’t regret seeing him live. A+ for Tim, Brantley and the guys of Love and Theft for a job well done!
