A rising star on the Canadian country music scene, Marshall Dane releases his new album packed with solid songs. The Ontario native will be playing dates across Canada this summer in support of the project at famed venues and festivals such as the Calgary Stampede. He’s also been nominated for 2 Country Music Association of Ontario Awards (Best Album for Running Stop Signs and Best Male Artist), which will take place next Monday May 27th in Markham.
The project features great drinkin’ songs such as ‘Alcohol Abuse’ and ‘Livin’ It Up’, but also shows Dane’s softer side with tracks like ‘How Do I Get There From Her’ and ‘Why Can’t I Leave’.
The stand out track however is ‘I’ll Be Your Whiskey’, a mid-tempo story of man wanting to see his friend get away from a rough relationship and be her salvation. The song showcases Dane’s vocals, which are strong and heartfelt on this track.
Overall, a great project by one of Canada’s best country indies.
