You’ve heard the saying: “it’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey.” Road trips are the definition of that old adage. With warmer weather approaching, travelling on the road becomes much easier and a lot of people will be embarking on summer road trips to many different places.`
Everyone has certain road trip essentials but one thing that most people need along their journey is a great playlist. Whether the group has a designated DJ or a preset mixtape, a soundtrack to the adventure leaves lasting memories and nostalgia for when we listen to that song in the future.
Musicians are no strangers to road trips as they have to spend large amounts of time on tour and away from home. Tim Hicks is no exception to that statement. He recently performed with Brantley Gilbert across Western Canada opening for The Ones That Like Me tour but has been all over Canada for tours of his own, most recently the Shake These Walls tour.
Some songs are just meant for road trips and Tim Hicks is one of those artists that has a catalogue filled with them. His newest single “Loud” is definitely among those songs and will certainly be played over many car stereos this summer. It’s an incredible driving tune and when you listen to it you can’t help but feel like putting the pedal to the metal and getting loud like a speedway!
But what does a musician like Tim Hicks listen to when he’s travelling coast to coast on his way to perform at venues nationwide? Luckily we have the answer to that question with Tim Hicks’ “Songs To Crank On Your Road-Trip Playlist”. Featuring songs like “Black Dog” by Led Zeppelin, “She’s Country” by Jason Aldean and “Life Is A Highway” by Tom Cochrane, this playlist contains a mix of everything to get you going on the road.
