Olympic Q and A with Shane Yellowbird

Posted by: Top Country

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Shane Yellowbird

TC – What is your favourite Summer Olympic event?
Shane – My favourite has to be track.

TC – What is your most memorable Olympic moment/memory?
Shane – Favourite memory would have to be when I played the Alberta House at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games. A bunch of the Canadian athletes came out to support me and the boys that night. Pretty cool experience.

TC – What has been your favourite opening ceremony performance?
Shane – Nickelback was really cool to see at the Vancouver Games Closing Ceremonies. I’ve known Chad a while, we grew up just down the road from each other. Cool to see some Alberta boys hit that kind of success level.

TC – Tell us about your own personal feat?
Shane – Many people know I have a studdering problem. That’s one of the hardest things I’ve had to overcome in my life. It takes a lot to get out exactly what I want to say. That experience made me a better singer/artist. I had to sing out my words as a child. Fate, I guess.
