The Canadian Country Music Awards will celebrate a hugely successful year for Meghan Patrick. Not only is she up for Female Artist of the Year, she is also nominated for Rising Star & Album of the Year.
TC: What was your first reaction when you found out you were nominated for Female Artist of the Year?
MP: I might have had something in my eye… or maybe I was crying a little bit… Haha. I was just so grateful for the amazing team I have around me who helped me get here and proud of how far I’ve come.
TC: Who is your go-to band or artist when you can’t decide on something to listen to?
MP: Lately I’ve been loving Josh Thompson’s new album. Eric Church, Miranda Lambert and AC/DC are constant go-to’s though, depending on my mood.
TC: What’s something you’ve been meaning to try but just haven’t gotten around to it?
MP: Adulting. But for real, I’d love to try skydiving one day.
TC: What’s your favourite thing to do when you have time off?
MP: I just bought a Jon boat so I get out on the water as much as I can to fish or just enjoy the quiet. Other than that, I love hunting and doing anything outdoors, catching up with friends and family, and listening to live music with a cold beer.
TC: If you could make one rule that everyone had to follow, what rule would you make?
MP: Be honest, be kind, be you.
