Lindsay Ell recently released her debut album, ‘The Project’, which received rave reviews and even got a stamp of approval from Blake Shelton.
TC: What was your first reaction when you found out you were nominated for Female Artist of the Year?
LE: When I found out I was nominated for Female Artist of the Year, I was so excited and humbled. I remember year after year watching award show after award show watching Shania walk up and accept CCMA Awards up on that stage. To be attending the CCMA Awards let alone being nominated for female artist feels a little surreal. When you work so hard at something for so long and some of your dreams start coming true, it’s crazy to start believing they’re reality.
TC: Who is your go-to band or artist when you can’t decide on something to listen to?
LE: I listen to a lot of John Mayer, Keith Urban & Sheryl Crow.
TC: What’s something you’ve been meaning to try but just haven’t gotten around to it?
LE: Someday I would love to go zip lining in the mountains.
TC: What’s your favourite thing to do when you have time off?
LE: I love to cook and do yoga, and play a lot of guitar. :)
TC: If you could make one rule that everyone had to follow, what rule would you make?
LE: Trust yourself. Usually your gut is pretty smart and comes from a place of honesty. So if I had to make a rule it would be to stand up for what you believe in.
