Luke Bryan’s current hit, “That’s My Kind of Night” has been receiving a lot of press ever since Zac Brown made a comment about it being ‘the worst song’ he’s ever heard during an interview on Vancouver’s 93.7 JRfm.
“There’s not a lot of the country format that I really enjoy listening to, if I hear one more tailgate in the moonlight, daisy duke song, I’m gonna throw up.” Brown says. “There’s songs out there on the radio right now that make me ashamed to be even in the same format as some other artists. I love Luke Bryan, and he’s had some great songs, but this new song is the worst song I’ve ever heard, I see it being giant commercially, successful within what is called country music these days, but I also feel like that the people deserve something better than that.”
Since Brown’s comments, Jason Aldean has come out in defense of Luke and the song, recently posting on Instagram, ““I hear some other artist are bashing my boy Luke Bryan’s new song, sayin’ it’s the worst song they have ever heard, to those people runnin’ their mouths, trust me when I tell you that nobody gives a s— what you think. It’s a big ol’ hit, so apparently the fans love it which is what matters. Keep doin’ your thing LB!!!”
Since the interview and the backlash Brown has clarified his remarks via twitter saying, “My opinion is not about Luke as an artist, it’s about that song. He didn’t write it. I’m a fan of Luke, but definitely not that song.”
