The Grand Ole Opry just launched a new project that aims to help develop up-and-coming artists at the start of their careers. Canada’s very own Tenille Townes will be joining this year’s group of rising stars! The project entitled Opry NextStage will follow the participants for a full year. Performances at Opry-related venues, a documentary series, online coverage, and radio broadcasts are all in the works for Opry NextStage.
The other acts to join the Opry NextStage initiative are Travis Denning, Riley Green, and Tegan Marie. They all will perform at the Ryman Auditorium in December as a part of the program.
Tenille Townes recently released her debut single Somebody’s Daughter in September and will be performing on December 7th – less than a month before she joins Dierks Bentley on his Burning Man tour. This is a huge opportunity for the Albertan and is amazing for Canadian country music as a whole.
