At the start of any new relationship, it’s easy to second guess if your significant other is really in it for the long run. David James’ latest single ‘What If I Don’t’ responds to those doubts in the most romantic way.
TC: Did you write your new single, ‘What If I Don’t’?
David James: ‘What If I Don’t’ was actually written by a couple great friends of mine down in Nashville. It’s an amazing feeling when as an artist you hear a song for the first time, and it gives you goosebumps, and you know it’s just a perfect fit for what you’re trying to do.
TC: What is your go-to romantic gesture?
David James: I think that’s dependent on the girl. I believe everyone has a different method of how they share or want to receive love, so I just try and make her feel special in a way that could be unique to her.
TC: What is your favourite moment of your career so far?
David James: Getting to tour with Chad Brownlee was pretty cool, he’s someone I’ve looked up to for a while. I’ve been pretty lucky. This music career has allowed me to meet and hangout with a lot of my musical idols growing up, the reasons I got into this industry.
TC: Your dreams would come true if…
David James: I could earn a living playing and singing my music for the rest of my life.
TC: What is your favourite thing about being an artist?
David James: Getting to engage with the fans who really connect with your music is super cool. Whether it’s someone telling me about how they’re using a song of mine as their Wedding Song, or, why a certain lyric impacted their life… I mean, that’s gotta be the honest goal of any artist; impacting people’s lives for the better.
